Outdoor Labs provides hands-on outdoor education within the context of the Catholic faith. Students are given the opportunity to encounter God both in creation and the sacraments, leaving inspired to deepen their relationship with God, thus shaping their relationship with themselves, others, and Creation. Students are given the opportunity to apply faith and reason while exploring the great outdoors.

Outdoor labs is inspired by Saint John Paul II’s encyclical Fides et Ratio and the life of Blessed Stanley Rother. Outdoors labs is a three-day Catholic outdoor education program offered from August through May. Students participate in inquiry-based lessons, educational hikes, small-group discussions, campfire activities, stargazing, Mass, Adoration, and Reconciliation. Through learning about the heroic life of Stanley Rother and Karol Wojtyla (JPII) and their love for the outdoors, students are given the opportunity to grow and dive deep into faith and reason.
“Faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of the truth; and God has placed in the human heart a desire to know the truth—in a word, to know himself—so that, by knowing and loving God, men and women may also come to the fullness of truth about themselves.”
